CarFlip Privacy Policy — last updated: September 23, 2026
What CarFlip reads. CarFlip runs only on facebook.com/marketplace pages you open. It reads the listing text on those pages (title, price, mileage, seller's description) to compute a price estimate and a condition summary. It reads nothing else on Facebook and nothing on other websites.
What CarFlip sends to its server. To check your licence and compute price estimates, the extension sends: your licence key, a random device identifier created on install, a session token, and the vehicle model, year, mileage and drivetrain (if stated) of the listing being priced. Price estimates are calculated on our server; the listing's asking price is not sent. It does not send the listing's URL, the seller's name, your Facebook identity, your location, or the seller's description text.
What CarFlip stores on your computer. Your licence key, a device key, your settings (ZIP code, budget), and a temporary session cache of prices you have seen. All of this stays in Chrome's extension storage on your device and is deleted when you remove the extension.
What we keep on the server. Licence status per device (to enforce the 2-device limit), the date each device started its free trial, and short-lived records of which model/year/mileage ranges each licence priced that day (kept 2 days) to enforce daily limits and detect bulk copying; suspected-copying alerts are kept for 90 days. To limit free trials per network, a one-way hash of your network (IP) address is kept for 2 days. No account, no email, no listing IDs, no seller data.
Payments. Handled by Lemon Squeezy. CarFlip never sees your card number. Lemon Squeezy's privacy policy applies to the checkout.
Sharing. We do not sell, rent or share data with advertisers or anyone else. We disclose data only if required by law.
Your choices. Remove the extension to delete all local data. Email flipfindertools@gmail.com to cancel a licence or ask us to delete server-side licence records.
Children. CarFlip is not for users under 18.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new date.
